Anxious tourists flee Indian Kashmir after 'terror' warning

SRINAGAR, India: Thousands of tourists and students scrambled to get places on planes and buses leaving Kashmir on Saturday (Aug 3) after the Indian government warned of the threat of "terror" attacks.

インド政府がテロ攻撃の脅威を警告した後、土曜日に、数百の観光客と学生がカシミールを離れる飛行機やバスに乗るために溢れかえっていた。

Thousands of military reinforcements were arriving in the Himalayan territory, also claimed by Pakistan, where a three-decade old insurgency has left tens of thousands of dead.

強化された数百の軍勢がパキスタンが主張しているヒマラヤの領土に到着し、そこでは30年前の反乱により、数十万の死者を出した。

The Jammu and Kashmir state government said late Friday that tourists should leave "immediately" because of new intelligence about "terror threats" to a major Hindu pilgrimage in the region.

観光客はその地域でのヒンドゥー教の主要な巡礼の際のテロ攻撃についての新たな策略のため、即座に離れるべきであると、ジャンムーとカシミール州政府は金曜遅くに述べた。

 

 

Anxious tourists, including some foreigners, flooded the airport at the main city, Srinagar, on Saturday, many without tickets for flights that day.

外国人も含む懸念している観光客は土曜日に主要都市のSrinagarの空港で溢れかえっており、多くがその日の航空券を持っていなかった。

Visitor numbers have been boosted by the Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage, which draws hundreds of thousands of Hindus each year.

訪問客数はAmarnath Yatra pilgrimage(寺)により急速に伸びており、毎年何十万ものヒンドゥー教徒が来ている。

The pilgrimage has been cancelled because of the scare. A huge security force had been guarding the route even before the alert. A second smaller pilgrimage, the Machail Mata Yatra, in Jammu region was also cancelled Saturday.
