Real husbands share joy of cooking during Ramadan with Kecap ABC
Despite the growing awareness among husbands in Indonesia about the importance of contributing to household work, home meal preparations are mostly left to wives.
家事仕事に貢献する重要性についてインドネシアの夫たちの間での意識が成長しているのにも関わらず、家庭の食事の準備の大部分を妻が行っていた。
According to a study, more than 75 percent of chores are shared by husbands and wives. When it comes to cooking, however, less than 3 out of 10 husbands help their wives in the kitchen. This means that cooking is mostly done by the wives and only a small number of husbands either have skills in cooking or an interest in helping in the kitchen.
研究によると、毎日の仕事の75%は夫と妻によって分担されている。しかしながら、料理になると、10分の3以下の夫しかキッチンで手伝わないという。これは料理は妻によってされるものであり、ごく少数の夫だけが料理またはキッチンで手伝うということに関心があるということを意味している。
For most wives, including working ones, cooking may have become part of their daily chores and they do it joyfully in accordance with their own schedules.
仕事の一つとして料理を含む、大多数の妻たちはこれが日課の一部であり、自分たちのスケジュールのなかでそれをするのが楽しみになっている。
However, cooking during the holy month of Ramadan must certainly be a challenge. The cooking process is not typical in terms of time. The wives have to prepare sahur (predawn meal), which can last between 3 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. This means that during every Ramadan, the wives, who commonly go to bed last, have to wake up half or one hour before 3 a.m.
しかし、神聖なラマダンの間の料理は確かに挑戦となり得よう。料理の過程が時間の面で典型的なものではないからである。妻たちは午前3時から午前4時半の間に食べるsahurという夜明け前の料理を準備しなければならないからである。これは、ラマダンの間毎回、妻たちはベッドに入ってから、午前3時の30分または1時間前に起きなければならないのである。
Imagine waking up at such an hour, a time when everybody is sleeping soundly! They must feel incredibly sleepy! There are also feelings of fatigue, because they also work to make ends meet and go to bed late! But they do it wholeheartedly as they believe it as part of a religious service.
そのような時間に起きると、全員が音をたてて眠っていると想像がつく。彼らは信じられないほど眠いに違いない。彼らは生計を立てるために働き、夜遅くに寝ているため、疲労感もあるだろう。しかし、宗教的なもてなしの一部として、心を込めて作っている。
In order for more husbands to show their wives the appreciation they deserve, Kecap ABC launched its Ramadan campaign, #SuamiSejatiMasakSahur (#RealHusbandsCookSahur). The campaign aims to encourage husbands to cook for the predawn meal for their wives as a token of appreciation.
多くの夫たちに妻たちが評価すべきことをしているのを見せるために、Kekap ABCは #SuamiSejatiMasakSahurというラマダンのキャンペーンを始めた。そのキャンペーンは感謝のしるしとして、妻たちのために夫たちが夜明け前の料理を作ることを奨励することが目標である。
As part of the campaign event, a walking band of several men dressed with cooking aprons bearing the name Kecap ABC chanted loudly, “Sahur-sahur. Suami sejati ayo bangun bantu istri masak. Sahur… sahur…” (Real husband. Please wake up and help your wife cook for the predawn meal), after midnight at about 2 a.m.
そのキャンペーンイベントの一部として、Kecap ABCの名前がついた料理エプロンを身にまとった男性たちのバンドが歩きながら、午前2時以降の深夜に"Sahur-sahur"と大声で詠唱した。
The event was held in Depok and Bandung, West Java, on May 18 and 19 from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m.
そのイベントは5月18日、19日の午前2時から5時まで、西ジャワ地方のデポックとバンドンで開かれた。
